Paper for restaurants, hotels and cafes

A restaurant uses paper in the bakery, at the pass and in every takeaway bag. Butter paper handles baking and dry food. OGR handles fried and oily food.

01 / The jobs

Where paper works in a restaurant or hotel

Lining baking trays in the hotel bakery. Lining baskets and serving trays at the pass. Wrapping takeaway and room-service orders. Separating portions in the cold room.

02 / Constraints

The limits a restaurant works under

  1. Oven heat

Only silicone-coated butter paper carries an oven rating from us: 230 °C.

  2. Oil on the plate and in the bag

Fried food darkens plain paper. OGR holds a barrier, so the wrap stays clean.

  3. Many outlets, one standard

A chain needs the same sheet at every outlet, so one size ordered centrally beats local buying.

  4. Storage space

Kitchens have little dry store. Order quantities your store holds, wrapped and off the floor.

04 / Example

A worked example

A hotel bakery lines its trays from a 450 mm silicone-coated butter paper roll. The coffee shop wraps sandwiches in white OGR sheets at 300×400 mm. Room service lines bread baskets with the same sheet.

Two grades, one roll width and one sheet size cover the whole property.

05 / QSR chains

Quick service chains

A QSR chain wraps every order, so the wrap weight drives cost. Start OGR at 35 or 45 GSM, where the grease barrier does the work.

Order one sheet size for every outlet. At 35 GSM, a 300×400 mm OGR sheet weighs 4.2 grams, so the 500 kg minimum holds about 119,000 wraps.

06 / Ordering

Order sizes and lead times

Butter paper rolls start at 1 retail roll, or 250 kg per width and GSM in bulk. In-stock rolls ship in 2 to 5 working days.

OGR starts at 500 kg per GSM and size, with 2 to 3 weeks from stock. Butter paper sheets start at 10,000 per size and GSM.

Questions

Before you specify

Which paper do restaurants use for burgers and fries?

OGR. The grease barrier keeps the wrap and the basket liner clean.

Which paper goes in a hotel bakery oven?

Silicone-coated butter paper, rated to 230 °C.

Do you supply chains with many outlets?

Yes. Order one grade and size centrally to stay above the minimum, and every outlet gets the same sheet.
