Kraft

Strong industrial wrap

Kraft

Kraft is the strength grade. Long-fibre, unbleached and built for handling. Choose kraft when the job is wrapping, protecting and shipping, not presenting.

The kraft process keeps fibres long where other pulping methods cut them short. Fibre length drives most of the tear and burst strength. The rest of the grade follows from this one choice.

Left unbleached, kraft also skips a stage costing back some of the strength. The familiar kraft colour is the absence of a step. This is why the toughest paper in the range is also the plainest.

Choosing between grades

Against bleached kraft
Same long-fibre base. Plain kraft keeps the full strength. Choose bleached when the pack is seen.
Against MG
Choose MG for print. Choose plain kraft when the sheet only has to hold.

Questions

Why is kraft stronger?

The kraft process keeps fibres long. Long fibres give the sheet its tear and burst strength.

Is kraft food-safe?

We specify kraft for industrial wrapping and packing. For direct food contact, use the butter paper or OGR grades.

What weight do I need?

The weight follows the load and the handling, not a rule of thumb. Tell us what you wrap and how the goods ship.
