Paper for carry bags

A carry bag needs a face for print and a body for the load. MG gives the printed face. Kraft gives the strength.

01 / The job

What a carry bag needs

A carry bag shows a brand on the outside and carries a load. The paper decides how well the print looks and how much the bag holds.

Machine-glazed paper gives a smooth printing face on one side. Kraft gives tear strength where the load is heavy.

03 / Format

Formats for converters

MG comes in reels from 500 to 1,500 mm wide and 1,500 to 4,000 m long, from 1 tonne per GSM and width, with a lead time of 3 to 5 weeks after spec approval.

Kraft comes in reels from 600 to 1,800 mm wide. Send your bag dimensions and machine, and we will confirm the width.

For bags carrying food, ask us before you order. Kraft is not for direct food contact, and MG needs our confirmation for food use.

04 / Weight

Picking a weight

Weight follows the load. Light bags for small retail items sit at the low end of the 40 to 80 GSM MG range. Heavier loads point to the upper end, or to kraft at 60 to 120 GSM.

05 / Colour

Brown or white

Brown MG reads industrial and natural. White MG reads retail and gives the most accurate colour, since ink on brown shifts towards the base shade.

Questions

Before you specify

What MOQ applies to bag paper?

MG and kraft start at 1 tonne per GSM and width.

How long does bag paper take?

MG takes 3 to 5 weeks after spec approval, and kraft 3 to 6 weeks.
