Edges and corners take the knocks in transit. Kraft folded over them covers the surface, so strapping and the next load rub on paper first.

What edge protection does
Strapping bites into edges. Cartons and furniture rub against each other on a truck. Corners hit the floor when a load comes off.
A few layers of kraft folded over each edge and corner put paper between your goods and these contacts.

03 / Methods
Wrapped edges and angle boards
Two methods use kraft at the edge. Wrapping folds kraft from a reel over the edge and tapes the fold. Angle boards are rigid L-shaped strips made by laminating several layers of kraft under pressure.
Angle boards hold up under strapping on pallets. Wrapped kraft suits single items, furniture panels and odd shapes.
We supply kraft paper, not finished angle boards. If you make angle boards, send us your ply specification and we will check which of our weights fits.
04 / Weight
Picking a weight
Weight follows the load and the handling. Heavy panels and rough journeys point towards 120 GSM. Light goods sit towards 60 GSM.
Test the wrap on a real dispatch before you set a standard for every load.
05 / Ordering
Formats and order size
Kraft reels run 600 to 1,800 mm wide and 1,000 to 3,000 m long. Pick the reel width to suit the edges you wrap and the dispenser on your bench. Sheets come in 700×1,000 and 900×1,200 mm.
The MOQ is 1 tonne per GSM and width, with a lead time of 3 to 6 weeks after spec approval.

Before you specify
Is kraft paper good for edge protection?
Yes. Kraft is the strength grade in our range, and our kraft page lists industrial wrap and protection among its main uses.
Do you sell angle boards?
No. We supply kraft paper by the reel and the sheet. Angle board makers laminate kraft into rigid strips.
Brown or white kraft for edges?
Brown kraft for goods out of sight in transit. Bleached kraft when your customer unwraps the goods and sees the paper.
