03 / Oven and OTG

Ovens and OTGs

An OTG is an oven, so the same limit applies: 230 °C for silicone-coated butter paper. Set the oven at or below 230 °C and the sheet stays inside its rating.

Brand ratings for baking paper differ. Wikipedia cites one brand at 216 °C. Read the rating for the paper in your hand, not a general figure.

04 / Air fryer

Air fryers

An air fryer blows hot air past a heating element. A loose sheet lifts in the airflow and touches the element.

Preheat the fryer empty, then add the sheet with food on top, flat and away from the element. Never run the fryer with a sheet and no food. Keep the setting at or below 230 °C.

05 / Microwave and steam

Microwaves and steaming

We have not tested our butter paper in a microwave or a steamer, so we make no claim for either.

For microwave or steam use, follow the guidance printed on the pack of a paper tested for the job.

06 / Which side

Which side of butter paper to use

Our specification sheet does not name a coated side for the silicone-coated type. Ask the sales desk before you rely on one face for release.

For the other two types, either face goes against food, since neither carries a coating.
