How to buy paper in bulk
Bulk paper buying goes wrong in the gaps: a vague spec, an untested sample, a quote with no lead time. Close each gap in order.

01 / The order
How to place a bulk paper order
Name the job.
Tell the supplier what the paper does: wrap fried food, line trays, fill cartons. Add the grade, GSM, reel width and quantity if you know them. A photo of the paper you use today is usually enough to start.
Get samples first.
Ask for swatches before you commit to a reel, so you agree the hand and shade on paper, not on screen.
Agree the spec in writing.
Record grade, GSM, format, size, shade and finish on a specification sheet, with a reference you quote on every repeat.
Check the quote.
A quote should state price, format and lead time in writing. Reels price by weight. Sheets and reams price by pack.
Confirm before cutting.
Nothing should be cut or shipped until you confirm the spec. Reels slit to your width never go back to stock.
Check the delivery.
Note any shortage or damage on the carrier copy and photograph the damage before unwrapping further.
02 / The brief
Write a brief a supplier prices fast
Grade, GSM, width and quantity set the price. Send these four, and a supplier quotes the order.
Not sure of the spec? Bring a sample or a photo and tell us the job for the paper. We narrow the choice to two or three grades to try.
Use our RFQ template to send the same brief to every supplier, so the quotes compare line by line.

03 / Samples
Samples before the first reel
We send swatches before a first order in a new grade. They go out with the next dispatch or by post, and a swatch of a grade we hold costs nothing.
Shade and hand vary between mills, so judge the sheet in your own light and on your own job, not on a screen.
04 / MOQ
Plan around the minimum order
| Butter paper rolls | 1 retail roll · 250 kg per width and GSM in bulk |
|---|---|
| Butter paper sheets | 10,000 sheets per size and GSM |
| White and brown OGR | 500 kg per GSM and size |
| White and brown MG | 1 tonne per GSM and width |
| White MF | 1 tonne per GSM and width · 100 reams per sheet size |
| Kraft and bleached kraft | 1 tonne per GSM and width |
05 / Lead time
Plan around lead time
| Butter paper rolls | In stock: 2–5 working days · custom reels: 3–5 weeks |
|---|---|
| Butter paper sheets | 2–4 weeks after size approval |
| White and brown OGR | 2–3 weeks from stock · 6–8 weeks new mill run |
| MG and MF | 3–5 weeks after spec approval |
| Kraft and bleached kraft | 3–6 weeks after spec approval |
06 / Planning
Turn lead time into a reorder point
Count back from the day you run out. Take your weekly use, multiply by the lead time in weeks, and reorder before stock falls below this quantity.
Add the sample stage to a first order in a new grade. Samples, approval and a new mill run take longer than a repeat from stock.
For regular runs, we hold an agreed quantity reserved against your spec and release stock as you call off. When the grade is in stock, urgent orders often ship within the same week.
07 / Terms
Payment and terms
We agree terms before the first dispatch. New accounts usually start on advance or part advance, and terms ease as we build a history together.
Your quote states whether a line prices per kilo or per pack, so you have nothing to work out afterwards.
08 / Delivery
Delivery and collection
We supply businesses across India from Ghaziabad. We book transport with your preferred carrier, or arrange transport for you if you prefer.
We wrap and cap reels, and strap sheets on pallets or box them. Collection from our Ghaziabad godown also works: tell us the day and we have the order strapped and ready at the dock.

09 / Repeats
Repeat orders and changes
Once you agree a spec, we keep the spec on file. Place repeats by phone, by email or through the mobile store, and each repeat ships against the same sheet you approved.
Mills make paper in batches, and natural stock moves a little between batches. We flag a batch change before the order ships.
If a grade is discontinued, we tell you before you run out and send the nearest alternatives as swatches, so you test the change before the change reaches your floor.
10 / Further reading
Where to go next
The pages in this guide cover each step in detail: how to request samples, how to choose a supplier, what MOQ means, the RFQ and specification sheet templates, and how to check paper quality on delivery.
11 / Formats
Reels, sheets or reams
Reels suit lines and kitchens cutting to length, and we price reels by weight. Sheets and reams suit counters and workshops repeating one size, and we price them by pack.
Tell us the run size and we will advise the format with the lowest shipping cost. Ask for the pricing basis on every quote line, so two quotes compare on the same basis.
12 / One desk
One desk, one record
Orders, specs and follow-ups go through one desk, so nobody has to be brought up to speed each time you call.
Keep your own record too: the spec reference, the approved sample date and each delivery reading. A shared record settles questions fast.
13 / Claims
Recycled content and claims
Several of our grades carry recycled content. We tell you what a given grade contains and which mill made the grade, so your own claims stay accurate.
If you make a claim on your packaging, ask for the evidence in writing before you print.
14 / Origin
Where the paper comes from
We import every grade from the US and UK and supply businesses across India from Ghaziabad. Origin shapes lead time: a new mill run takes longer than a repeat from stock.
