How to choose a paper supplier
Judge a paper supplier on what they write down. Specs, samples, quotes, delivery and claims should all be clear before your first order.

01 / The checklist
Seven questions to ask any supplier
Do you publish your specs?
Look for GSM, widths, roll lengths, sheet sizes, MOQ and lead time per grade, in writing.
Do you send samples first?
A good supplier sends swatches before a first order in a new grade.
Is the quote in writing?
Price, format and lead time, with the pricing basis per line: per kilo or per pack.
Do you keep my spec on file?
Repeat orders should ship against the same sheet you approved.
Do you warn me before a batch change?
Natural stock moves between batches. You should hear before the order ships, not on your floor.
What happens with short or damaged deliveries?
Look for a clear process: note, photograph, and a replacement or credit.
What documents back your claims?
Ask what the mill certifies for your grade and use, and ask for the papers.
02 / Specs
Published specs
A supplier publishing GSM, sizes, MOQ and lead time per grade gives you something to hold them to.
Our grade pages list all of these. Butter paper runs 35 to 50 GSM, OGR 35 to 70, MG and MF 40 to 80, and kraft 60 to 120, with widths, lengths, MOQs and lead times per grade.

03 / Process
Samples, quotes and confirmation
We send swatches before a first order in a new grade. A swatch of a grade we hold costs nothing.
Our quotes state price, format and lead time in writing. Nothing is cut or shipped until you confirm the spec.
Once you agree a spec, we keep the spec on file, and each repeat ships against the same sheet you approved.
04 / Delivery
Delivery and claims
Ask where the supplier ships from and who books transport. We supply businesses across India from Ghaziabad, with your carrier or ours.
Ask what happens when a delivery arrives short or damaged. With us, you note the problem on the carrier copy, photograph the damage, and we replace or credit the affected stock.

05 / Our gaps
What we do not publish yet
We publish no certification marks on this site. For food contact, tell us what the paper will touch. We tell you which grades are cleared for the job and what the mill certifies.
We do not publish mill names or KIT values for OGR yet. We tell you what a given grade contains and which mill made the grade on request.
We do not publish caliper values. Ask for a sample and measure the sample on your own equipment.
Hold every supplier to the same standard, us included. If a claim matters to your business, ask for the evidence in writing.
06 / Origin
Ask where the paper comes from
Origin affects lead time and supply. We import every grade from the US and UK and supply businesses across India from Ghaziabad.
